Welcome!
I’m Rachel Cooper, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) offering psychotherapy services through rekoop, my private practice in Columbia, Missouri. Most folks call me ‘Rae’ and you can too. Nature, biking, yoga, plants, meditation, art, and community are things that help me show-up for clients with compassion, creativity, cultural humility and empathy.
If you prefer in-person appointments, we’ll meet in a lovely, calm office space at Willow Holistic Counseling Center, or I can provide virtual sessions securely from my home office.
My practice is grounded in scientific research and timeless wisdom traditions. To support holistic wellbeing, I integrate somatic therapy alongside more traditional cognitive behavioral approaches. I see this work as an art and a science! I enjoy problem-solving, co-creating and adapting strategies with each client uniquely.
As a social worker, I view trauma and systemic oppression as root causes of many forms of individual and collective suffering. I engage in the work of self-care, reflection, and continuing education, always striving to grow my self-awareness and skills. I honor the uniqueness of each client’s lived experience and offer welcoming, inclusive, safe space for All.
Here’s my Psychology Today profile for more about my work.
